Iran Football Team Secures US Visas for World Cup Qualifiers

Iran's national football team has been granted the green light to participate in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers as all 26 players have successfully received US visas. This development comes amidst speculation that the team will play three group matches in the United States.

However, reports indicate that more than a dozen staff members had their visa applications rejected due to ongoing political unrest in Iran. Mehdi Taj, the president of the Iranian Football Federation, has been involved in discussions with FIFA regarding these visa issues.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and senior representatives have reportedly met several times over the past few months to resolve off-field matters, allowing Iran to focus on the competition. The Iranian squad is now set to prepare for their travel to the World Cup base.
