Iran Confirms Death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei

Iranian state television confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, who was 86 years old and had served in this role since 1989. The announcement came without reference to reports of a massive U.S. and Israeli attack.

Following Khamenei's death, U.S. President Donald Trump stated on social media that Khamenei was among "evil people" and that his death was not justifiable for the people of Iran or the world.

Trump characterized Khamenei's leadership as that of a "bloodthirsty thug." The death of Khamenei presents an opportunity for Iran to return to a more peaceful state, as the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps) may no longer wish to engage in conflict.
