Trump made this announcement on his Truth Social platform, labeling Khamenei as "evil" and asserting that his death serves justice for the people of Iran and Americans affected by Iranian actions. He urged U.S. citizens to seize this historic opportunity.

Trump further indicated that military operations would persist as necessary, highlighting that intelligence operations were carried out in close coordination with Israel. Satellite imagery circulated online reportedly showed visible damage to a compound in Tehran linked to Khamenei.

Following these strikes, tensions escalated in the region, with reports indicating that Iran launched retaliatory strikes in areas hosting U.S. military bases. The Iranian Red Crescent reported that approximately 200 people were killed across Iran in the aftermath of the strikes.
