Iran Attacks Qatar Gas Facility in Retaliation for Israel

On Wednesday, Iran launched missiles at Qatar’s Ras Laffan industrial city, which houses the largest gas facility in Qatar, as a response to an Israeli strike on the South Pars gas field, the world's largest natural gas reserve. Qatar's Foreign Ministry condemned the attack, labeling it a blatant Iranian assault that caused a fire and significant damage, while reiterating Qatar's right to respond to threats against its national security.

QatarEnergy confirmed that the missile hit the facility, causing major damage but ensuring that staff were safe with no reported casualties. Iranian officials, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, condemned the attack on energy infrastructure and warned that such aggressive acts would not yield gains for adversaries and could have uncontrolled repercussions affecting the entire world.

Additionally, Iranian Foreign Minister Abba Araghchi criticized Israel's actions as reckless, asserting that every action would provoke a reaction. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry confirmed that four ballistic missiles aimed at Riyadh were intercepted, with debris falling across the city but causing no serious damage or casualties.
