Trump Pauses Military Strikes, Eyes Iran Deal

President Donald Trump, in a social media post, stated that U.S. allies in the Middle East have reached parameters for a deal to end the five-month-old Iran war, leading him to hold off on new military strikes for now. Trump indicated that the emerging agreement would involve the immediate and total opening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran's nuclear threat.

He mentioned that Israel has agreed to collaborate with the U.S. in finalizing this deal. This announcement follows a recent shift in Trump's stance, as he had suggested he was close to resuming heavy military strikes against Iran.

The conflict began on February 28, aimed at destroying Iran's missile capabilities and preventing nuclear weapon acquisition. An interim agreement in mid-June had temporarily halted fighting but collapsed as Iran resumed attacks on shipping.

The announcement came after a call with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who expressed concerns about potential escalations in the conflict.
