Iran's Strikes Impact Gulf States More Than Israel

The ongoing conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran has seen a significant escalation since February 28, with Iran's missile and drone strikes affecting Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states more than Israel. A recent analysis by the Stimson Center indicates that 83% of Iran's attacks have targeted GCC nations, while only 17% were directed at Israel.

The conflict intensified following a joint U.S.-Israeli offensive against Iran, leading to a series of strikes on civilian infrastructure in the UAE, including Dubai International Airport and Jebel Ali Port. GCC states have faced a total of 4,391 missile and drone attacks since the conflict began, with Saudi Arabia recording 723 attacks resulting in two deaths and multiple injuries.

Analysts, including Chris Doyle and Carolin Rose, express concerns that Iran's strategy aims to destabilize the region and increase pressure on U.S. allies. In response, GCC countries, alongside Jordan, have intensified diplomatic efforts, condemning Iran's actions and reaffirming their right to self-defense under international law.
