IRI Commends Labour Party for Inclusive Political Participation Policies

The International Republican Institute (IRI) praised the Labour Party (LP) led by Julius Abure for its inclusive policies on political participation during a visit to the party's headquarters in Abuja. Mr.

Sentell Barnes, the IRI Resident Programme Director, commended LP for its commitment to expanding political participation, especially for marginalized groups. The LP has been actively promoting women's political participation, including advocating for the reservation of 35 legislative seats for women.

Abure highlighted the party's efforts to ensure inclusivity across all levels and activities, including issuing free nomination forms for women aspiring to elective positions in the 2023 general elections.
