IsDB Strengthens Partnership with Nigeria for Development

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is strengthening its partnership with Nigeria under the IsDB Group Country Engagement Framework (CEF) 2026–2028 to support Nigeria’s development priorities, including infrastructure, private sector development, Islamic finance, and economic diversification. This initiative was announced following a bilateral meeting between IsDB Chairman Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser and Nigeria's Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, during the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand.
Dr. Al Jasser acknowledged Nigeria’s support for the IsDB Group and praised the country's efforts in economic diversification. The meeting reviewed the IsDB Group’s expanding portfolio in Nigeria and discussed the implementation of the CEF, which aims to enhance economic transformation through various sectors.
Six projects across agriculture, renewable energy, health, infrastructure, and climate resilience were approved, expected to contribute significantly to sustainable growth and improved livelihoods in Nigeria.
