APM's Ajadi Advocates Religious Tolerance for Isese Day

Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) senatorial candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, called for religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among residents of Oyo as traditional religion adherents celebrate Isese Day on Thursday, August 20, 2026. In a statement signed by him on Wednesday, Ajadi congratulated traditional religion worshippers and urged them to celebrate respectfully, acknowledging the beliefs of other faiths.

The Oyo State Government, led by Governor Seyi Makinde, declared the day a work-free holiday to honor the cultural significance of Isese Day. Ajadi encouraged residents to pray for peace, unity, and stability in Oyo State and Nigeria, particularly with the upcoming 2027 general elections.

He praised Governor Makinde's recognition of the celebration, viewing it as an opportunity to promote Yoruba tradition and culture, and urged responsible celebrations that foster mutual respect among diverse religious groups.
