Nigerian Passengers Demand Refunds Amid Airspace Conflict

Nigerian passengers affected by the closure of Middle Eastern airspace due to the intensifying Israel-Iran conflict are demanding refunds from Emirates Airline and Qatar Airways. The ongoing conflict has left many travelers stranded and uncertain about their travel plans.

Reports indicate that some passengers have submitted refund requests but have not received their money, leading to frustration. Emirates Airline recently announced a limited resumption of flights between Dubai and Lagos, yet refund requests continue to mount.

Foluk Adedayo expressed her intention to seek legal action if her refund is not processed, while Yinka Folami, president of the National Association of Nigerian Travel Agencies, confirmed a significant increase in refund requests. He urged patience among travelers, noting that the refund process can be complicated.

Despite the challenges, he acknowledged that airlines have been relatively cooperative, although some passengers fear they may not fly with these airlines again.
