Nigerians Stranded as Qatar, Emirates Suspend Flights

Nigerian passengers are currently stranded at international airports following the suspension of flights by Qatar Airways and Emirates due to the escalating conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) issued a statement regarding the ongoing airspace closures in the Middle East, which have disrupted flight operations in the region.

As a result, several flights have been canceled or delayed. Passengers attempting to travel to Doha, a major Gulf hub, reported being asked to disembark from Qatar Airways flights after the airspace closure announcement.

Qatar Airways has temporarily suspended flights, citing passenger safety as its highest priority. Additionally, Air India announced the suspension of flights to Middle Eastern destinations due to the evolving situation.

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an advisory urging citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Iran and neighboring Gulf countries until the situation stabilizes.
