IT Firm Launches N50m Tech Scholarship for Almajiri Children in Nigeria

New Horizon Nigeria, an ICT training institute, has initiated a N50 million tech scholarship scheme aimed at equipping almajiri children with practical skills in computer and electronics. The program seeks to address the almajiri phenomenon by providing intensive training in laptop/desktop repair, mobile phone repair, and other electronic device maintenance.

Tim Akano, the Managing Director, emphasized the importance of empowering and reorienting almajiri children through a 90-day intensive program starting in January 2026 in Lagos.
