Nigerian media executive Mo Abudu refuted claims of a cabal in Nollywood influencing cinema slot allocations. Allegations surfaced that some Nollywood producers colluded with cinema owners to block competitors' movies.

However, during an interview on Arise Television, Abudu clarified that cinema operations are primarily business-oriented. She highlighted that movies are given preferential treatment based on their sales potential, emphasizing the importance of generating returns on investments in the cinema industry.
