Bayelsa Senator Resigns from PDP, Joins APC Citing Loss of Hope in Leadership

Senator Benson Konbowei of Bayelsa Central has resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a letter addressed to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, Konbowei expressed his loss of hope in the PDP due to leadership crises and power struggles at the national level.

He mentioned extensive consultations with family, political associates, and leaders within and outside Bayelsa State before making his decision. Konbowei also highlighted his support for the APC governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri.

This move reflects the ongoing political realignments in Bayelsa State.
