Kogi First Lady Calls for Enhanced Support for Women

During the 2026 International Women's Day celebration, Kogi First Lady Hajia Sefinat Usman Ododo called for increased support for women, urging community leaders and stakeholders to commit to advancing gender equality across Kogi State. She emphasized that empowering women through education and leadership opportunities benefits not only individuals but also families and communities.

The First Lady noted that every act of support, no matter how small, contributes to significant change. She described the celebration as a call to action for stakeholders, including government institutions and the private sector, to play active roles in promoting gender equality.

Additionally, she commended Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her commitment to advancing women's welfare nationwide. Hajia Fatimah Momoh, Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, also reaffirmed the government's commitment to gender equality and women's empowerment.

The event featured performances by the Kogi State cultural troupe and included the cutting of a cake to commemorate the occasion.
