Alex Iwobi Doubtful for Unity Cup Due to Injury

Alex Iwobi, a midfielder for Fulham FC and the Super Eagles, faces a race against time to be fit for Nigeria's Unity Cup campaign scheduled for May 26-30 in London. Iwobi suffered a hamstring injury during Fulham's Premier League clash against Brentford on April 18, which forced him off the pitch shortly before halftime.

As a result, he has missed the last three league games. Iwobi is currently undergoing recovery and awaiting a scan to determine the severity of his injury, which places his availability for the Unity Cup in doubt.

In a conversation on the Alexand Yaa Digg podcast, Iwobi explained that he is trying to stay active despite the injury by walking in his neighborhood to promote blood flow and oxygen to his leg. He acknowledged the mental challenges associated with being sidelined, noting that it affects his match routine and rhythm.

The 29-year-old has made 27 Premier League appearances this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists.
