Iyabo Obasanjo and Isola Unite for Ogun 2027 Governorship

Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and a former ambassador to the United Kingdom, has joined forces with Sarafa Tunji Isola to establish a support group for a consensus candidate in the Ogun State governorship race scheduled for 2027. This strategic merger within the All Progressives Congress (APC) is anticipated to strengthen the party's chances in the upcoming elections.

On Tuesday, Iyabo Obasanjo and Isola's team met with Senator Olusegun Obasanjo at the Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, where they also engaged with elder statesman Joju Fadairo. During the meeting, Iyabo Obasanjo pledged to align with the party's political vision and assured that they would work closely to ensure the success of the party's agenda.

She expressed excitement about the opportunity to contribute and emphasized the importance of unity within the party to achieve a landslide victory for Senator Yayi's second-term bid, underlining the need to prioritize Ogun State's interests.
