Iyabo Obasanjo Backs Tinubu's Reforms, Eyes Governorship

Iyabo Obasanjo, the daughter of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, expressed her support for President Bola Tinubu's economic reforms during a media interaction on Saturday. She highlighted the positive impact of these reforms on Nigeria's economy, particularly in stabilizing the naira and improving purchasing power.

Obasanjo announced her intention to run for governor of Ogun State in 2027, asserting her commitment to the role and her efforts to secure the APC gubernatorial ticket. She discussed the significance of the Lagos-Calabar coastal road project, stating it would enhance economic activity, alleviate congestion on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, and facilitate better transport connections.

Additionally, she emphasized the need for industrialization, agricultural development, and leveraging technology to create job opportunities in Ogun State. Obasanjo noted that the current administration has made strides in industrialization and aims to position the state as a hub for agriculture and technology.
