Ja Morant's Family Supports His New Journey in Portland

Ja Morant, born Temetrius Jamel Morant on 10 August 1999, is supported by his parents, Ronnie "Tee" Morant and Jamie Morant, and younger sister Teniya as he begins a new chapter in his basketball career in Portland. Tee and Jamie, both former collegiate athletes from Claflin University, have instilled a passion for sports in their children.
Tee was recognized as the EIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Year for 1996–97 and was a three-time EIAC All-Conference selection. After college, he played semi-professionally and became a barber to support his family when he learned Jamie was pregnant with Ja.
He developed a backyard training regimen for his children. Jamie, a former high school point guard and college softball player, was a four-time EIAC All-Conference selection and Player of the Year in 1996.
While Tee is more public-facing, Jamie prefers to support the family from behind the scenes.
