JAMB Walks Out on Nigerian House Committee During Budget Investigation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) officials, led by Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, walked out on a House Committee during a budget investigation over media presence.

The House Committee, chaired by Hon. Oboku Oforji, had summoned Oloyede to present documents related to the agency's budget and performance.

Instead, Oloyede sent a representative, Mr. Muftar Bello, leading to a confrontation.

The committee condemned JAMB's actions and gave a deadline for compliance. Lawmakers criticized JAMB's conduct as contemptuous and a violation of democratic accountability.
