Jay-Z's Yankee Stadium Concert Delayed for Safety

Jay-Z's final concert of his three-night residency at Yankee Stadium began after midnight on Monday, following a delay of over three hours. The delay was due to approximately 10,000 fans still outside the venue, prompting Jay-Z to prioritize safety after an incident where someone rushed an entrance.

He apologized to the audience for the inconvenience and expressed his desire to avoid any risk of trampling. The concert, originally scheduled for 8 p.m.

ET, concluded around 2:45 a.m. ET, ending with a fireworks display.

The event featured surprise performances from Rihanna, who sang “Run This Town” and “Bitch Better Have My Money,” and Beyoncé, who performed “Drunk in Love.” Other guests included Teyana Taylor, Usher, and Pharrell Williams. The concerts celebrated the 30th anniversary of Jay-Z's album "Reasonable Doubt" and the 25th anniversary of "The Blueprint." Following the concert, a joint statement from Roc Nation, Yankee Stadium, and Live Nation thanked the NYPD and stadium security for their efforts.
