Jigawa CP Disburses N25.9m to Families of Fallen Officers

On Monday, Tijjani Murtala, the Commissioner of Police for the Jigawa State Police Command, presented cheques worth over N25.9 million to 25 families of police officers who died in active service. The ceremony took place at the Jigawa State Police Command Headquarters in Dutse and was attended by members of the Command Management Team and senior officers.

Murtala presented the cheques on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, stating that the total amount was Twenty-Five Million, Nine Hundred and Sixty Thousand, Eight Hundred and Forty-Eight Naira, Seventy-Five Kobo (N25,960,848.75). He expressed sympathy and support for the families, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the deceased officers.

Murtala emphasized that while no financial compensation could replace the lives lost, the gesture reflects the Nigeria Police Force's commitment to the welfare of its personnel and their families. Yusuf Muhd Tsoho, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for the support and institutional responsibility shown by the police leadership.
