Jigawa Declares Public Holiday for Islamic New Year 1448 AH

The Jigawa State Government has officially declared Tuesday, June 16, 2026, as a public holiday to observe the Islamic New Year 1448 AH. This announcement was made in a statement issued by Alhaji Muhammad K.

Dagaceri, the head of the state civil service, and signed by Isma Ila Ibrahim Duts from the public relations office. The public holiday aims to allow civil servants and residents of the state to participate in activities marking the Islamic New Year, reflecting its spiritual significance.

Dagaceri urged workers and the people of Jigawa State to use this occasion to pray for peace, unity, and prosperity in the state. He encouraged residents to uphold the teachings of Islam and emulate the exemplary lifestyle of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Furthermore, he called on citizens to remain law-abiding and refrain from actions that could disrupt peace and harmony, expressing optimism that the new Islamic year would inspire greater commitment to moral values and collective development among the people of Jigawa.
