NNPP Chieftain in Jigawa State Disputes APC's Claim of 66,000 Defectors as Mere Propaganda

In Jigawa State, a chieftain of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Malam Aminu Ringim, has refuted the All Progressives Congress (APC)'s assertion of 66,000 defections as mere propaganda. Ringim dismissed the claim as false self-promotion by the APC gubernatorial candidate in the state.

He mentioned that some NNPP members, including lawmaker Hon Yusuf Shitu Galambi, joined the APC temporarily for political reasons, denying that they were genuine defectors. The NNPP leader emphasized that those who switched were originally APC members who joined NNPP and were given the opportunity to contest, leading to their victories.
