Jigawa PDP Suspends Local Chairman Over Misconduct Allegations

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has officially suspended Alhaji Lukman Wurno, the chairman of the Birnin Kudu local government chapter, due to allegations of misconduct. The suspension was announced in a statement issued from the party's local government secretariat by Alhaji Lawan Ahmad.

The decision to suspend Wurno was made in accordance with the party's disciplinary procedures aimed at maintaining unity and discipline within the chapter. The statement directed Wurno to cease all party activities immediately.

In his place, Alhaji Ibrahim Maigida Halimb has been endorsed to serve as the interim chairman until further notice. The party emphasized its commitment to transparency and accountability at all levels and urged members to remain calm while continuing to support the PDP's activities in Birnin Kudu.

The party also assured that necessary steps would be taken to strengthen its structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.
