Jigawa PDP Suspends Chairman Over Misconduct Allegations

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Jigawa State has suspended its chairman, Alhaji Lukman Wurno, due to allegations of misconduct. This decision was confirmed in a statement issued by the local government secretary, Alhaji Lawan Ahm, following formal complaints against Wurno.

The suspension is effective immediately, and Alhaji Ibrahim Maigida Halimb has been appointed as the acting chairman to oversee party affairs until further directives are received from higher authorities within the party. The PDP emphasized that this action is in line with its internal disciplinary guidelines and aims to protect unity, restore discipline, and maintain order within the local chapter.

The party leadership has called on members in Birnin Kudu to remain calm and avoid actions that could escalate tensions, while also assuring them that steps are being taken to strengthen the party's structure in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
