Joan Laporta Re-Elected FC Barcelona President with 68%

Joan Laporta has been re-elected as president of FC Barcelona, winning 68% of the votes in the presidential election held recently. His new term will commence on July 1, as confirmed by La Liga.

Laporta's main challenger, Victor Font, garnered approximately 30% of the votes, while the remainder of the ballots were declared void or invalid. This marks Laporta's return to the presidency after stepping down last month in accordance with club rules, having first served from 2003 to 2010, a period noted for appointing Pep Guardiola as manager and initiating a successful era for the club.

In his victory speech, Laporta expressed gratitude to the members and promised to strengthen the first team and continue the redevelopment of Camp Nou. FC Barcelona has faced significant financial difficulties in recent years but managed to return to domestic dominance last season.

Currently, they are four points clear of rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga.
