MHWUN Warns Federal Government Over JOHESU Demands

The Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) has issued a warning to the Federal Government regarding unresolved demands from the Joint Health Workers Union of Nigeria (JOHESU), threatening further industrial action in the health sector. MHWUN National President, Comrade Dr Kabiru Ado Sani Minjibir, made this statement during the 48th Session of the Tertiary Health Institutions National Consultative Forum (THINCF) at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada.
The forum focused on strengthening trade unionism and included discussions on workers' welfare and challenges in the health sector. Minjibir highlighted that issues such as the CONHESS salary adjustment and other collective bargaining agreements remain unresolved, despite progress made after the 84-day JOHESU strike that began on November 15, 2025.
He indicated that JOHESU would hold meetings to review these issues and take decisive action. Minjibir urged relevant ministries and stakeholders to resolve these matters promptly to avoid disrupting health services.
