Anambra Security Forces Rescue Abducted 16-Year-Old Boy

On September 13, 2026, joint security forces in Anambra State successfully rescued a 16-year-old boy named Favour Ayogu, who had been abducted from Igboeze South Local Government Area in Enugu State. The rescue took place at a security checkpoint in Onitsha, where the boy was reportedly abandoned after being dropped from a black Toyota Highlander SUV by unidentified individuals.

The operation was part of improved strategic joint security measures, and the swift response of the patrol team at Ekene Junction along Oguta Road led to the boy's safe recovery, preventing further harm. Following the rescue, the Anambra State Police Command, represented by Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga, announced that they have intensified surveillance and intelligence-led efforts to apprehend the suspected abductors.

The Command also appealed to the public, especially residents of Igboeze South and Ibagwa-Aka in Enugu State, for assistance in reuniting the victim with his family.
