Police Rescue Kidnapped Teenager in Anambra State

Favour Ayogu, a teenager, was rescued by security operatives after being abandoned by his kidnappers near a security checkpoint at Ekene Junction along Oguta Road. The suspects fled in a black Toyota Highlander SUV as a joint patrol team attempted to intercept them, leaving Ayogu behind.

The Anambra State Police Command reported that Ayogu had allegedly been abducted from Igboeze South Local Government Area in Enugu State before being taken towards Onitsha. The police did not disclose how the suspects transported him from Enugu to Anambra.

Tochukwu Ikenga, the command spokesman, stated that the operation was part of intensified joint security patrols in the state, emphasizing that the swift intervention of the patrol team prevented further harm to Ayogu. Efforts are underway to trace Ayogu's family, believed to be in Enugu State, and the police have appealed to residents of Igboeze South and Ibagwa-Aka for any information that could assist in locating his relatives.
