Jonathan Discloses Boko Haram Proposed Buhari for Peace Talks, Reveals Challenges

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan revealed that Boko Haram once proposed current President Muhammadu Buhari to lead peace talks during his administration's efforts to pursue dialogue over military action. Jonathan shared this during a public presentation of the book "SCARS: Nigeria's Journey in the Boko Haram Conundrum" authored by former Chief of Defence Staff General Lucky Irabor.

He mentioned the challenges faced in negotiating with the insurgent group and expressed hope that Buhari's presidency would facilitate dialogue and the eventual end of the insurgency. Despite these efforts, Boko Haram remains a complex issue in Nigeria.
