Jonathan Denies Accusing Buhari of Boko Haram Links

Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan clarified that he never accused late President Muhammadu Buhari of having links to Boko Haram. The clarification came after a report misrepresented Jonathan's statement during a book presentation by former Chief of Defence Staff Lucky Irabor.

Jonathan mentioned that Boko Haram nominated Buhari as a successor for negotiations with the government but did not imply any direct connection. Buhari's former spokesperson, Mallam Garba Shehu, refuted the claim, calling it false and politically motivated.

Jonathan's team emphasized that the comments were part of a broader discussion on Nigeria's security challenges and the deceptive tactics used by Boko Haram.
