Jonathan, Obi can’t match APC’s strength for 2027 – Mustapha Salihu

Comrade Mustapha Salihu, the National Vice Chairman of the Progressives Congress (APC), has dismissed the chances of former President Goodluck Jonathan and former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi emerging as strong contenders in the 2027 election for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In an interview with Arise News on Sunday, Salihu argued that neither Jonathan nor Obi possessed the political capacity to challenge the APC's structure and readiness.

Salihu praised Jonathan for his performance during his six years as president, but claimed that the deep divisions within the PDP would make Jonathan's candidacy unrealistic. He criticized Obi's political strategy, stating that the former governor had lost momentum and missed opportunities to build alliances that could benefit him in future elections.

Salihu emphasized that the APC is fully prepared for the 2027 election and that no party in Nigeria today can match their strength and organizational capacity.
