This action reportedly contributed to the tensions, as Tsimikas was seen throwing the armband on the floor during the argument.

Earlier in the summer, Jones had one year remaining on his contract with Liverpool, and manager Andoni Iraola expressed a desire for him to remain at the club. Liverpool is set to conclude their pre-season tour of North America on Sunday with a match in Chicago.
