JEDC Launches Flexible Electricity Debt Repayment Plan

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JEDC) PLC has introduced a flexible debt repayment plan designed to help customers settle their outstanding electricity bills in a convenient manner. This initiative was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by Mr.

Saratu Dauda Aliyu, the head of corporate communications at JEDC. The repayment framework aims to ease the financial burden on consumers and promote transparency in the settlement of accumulated electricity debt across the company's franchise area.

Customers will have the opportunity to review their valid outstanding electricity debts and will be provided with a flexible repayment structure based on their individual debt profiles. The framework includes different payment structures depending on the size of the customer's outstanding debt, with larger debt categories requiring partial upfront payments and defined repayment timelines.

JEDC encourages customers to visit their debt recovery and customer service offices to review and reconcile their debt profiles. The electricity distribution sector in Nigeria continues to face significant revenue losses due to billing inefficiencies and poor revenue collection.
