Jos Disco Launches New Debt Repayment Plan for Customers

Jos Disco has announced a new debt repayment plan aimed at facilitating the repayment of outstanding electricity debts for customers across its franchise area. This initiative, disclosed by the management on Sunday, is part of efforts to improve billing transparency and strengthen revenue recovery, ensuring sustainable electricity supply.
The company will verify outstanding debts through a newly installed metering framework, allowing customers to clearly see their outstanding obligations. The structured repayment plan categorizes residential customers with debts up to 1,000,000 Naira to repay 2,000 Naira monthly, while commercial customers within the maximum demand category will repay 2,500 Naira monthly.
For debts between 1,000,001 and 2,000,000 Naira, the monthly repayment is fixed at 10,000 Naira, and for debts ranging from 2,000,001 to 5,000,000 Naira, customers will pay 20,000 Naira monthly. Those with debts above 10,000,000 Naira are required to pay 30% of the total debt upfront, with the remaining balance cleared within nine months.
