Kano Governor Recruits 400 Math Teachers, Prioritizes Education in 2026 Budget

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has fulfilled a promise to enhance math education by recruiting 400 new math teachers to address shortages and improve student performance. The state's budget for 2026 prioritizes education with N405.3 billion allocated, followed by infrastructure, health, and other sectors.

The recruitment process was described as transparent and merit-based by the Kano State Senior Secondary School Management Board (KSSSSMB). Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his commitment to completing legacy projects and promoting inclusive development across the state.
