Kano State to Employ 4,000 New Teachers to Boost Education System

Kano State's SUBEB Chairman, Yusuf Kabir, announced the recruitment of 4,000 teachers to improve foundational literacy and numeracy across the state's 44 local government areas by 2025. The move aims to engage stakeholders and monitor pupil progress through a three-year partnership with Learn Nigeria.

Despite hiring 4,343 teachers in the last recruitment exercise, the state still faces a significant shortage. The recruitment process involves conducting aptitude tests at seven CBT centers in Wudil and Bichi areas, with plans to address overcrowded classrooms and absentee teachers.

Dr. Miswaru Bello highlighted concerns about pupil absenteeism and overcrowding, emphasizing the need for resident placements during recruitment to bridge the gap.
