Judiciary and Media Essential for Nigeria's 2027 Elections

During a conference held in Abuja, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Kudirat Keker Ekun and Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Lateef Fagbemi underscored the vital roles of the judiciary and media in sustaining Nigeria's democracy, particularly ahead of the 2027 general elections. Keker Ekun noted that the judiciary serves as the guardian of constitutional order, and its impact largely depends on public understanding of court processes.

She warned that misrepresentation in media reporting could erode public trust in the justice system. The AGF highlighted the judiciary's role in safeguarding democracy and ensuring that government actions remain within constitutional limits.
