CJN Kudirat Keker Ekun to Open Judiciary Conference in Abuja

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Keker Ekun, is set to declare open the annual judiciary correspondents' conference on Thursday in Abuja. The event, hosted by the Federal Ministry of Justice at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium, will focus on the theme "The Role of the Judiciary in Deepening Democracy in Nigeria." Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, will attend as a special guest.

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Afam Osigwe, is scheduled to present a paper titled "NJC as a Watchdog of the Judiciary." The conference will commence at 10 AM, with approximately 80 participants expected, including eminent scholars and key stakeholders in the justice sector. The event aims to enhance the capacity of judiciary correspondents and sharpen their reporting skills, addressing critical issues affecting the judiciary.

Kayode Lawal, Chairman of the Association of Judiciary Correspondents, will host the conference.
