Jurgen Klopp Named New Head Coach of Germany National Team

Jurgen Klopp, aged 59, has been appointed as the head coach of the German national football team, succeeding Julian Nagelsmann, who was dismissed after Germany's unexpected exit from the World Cup at the round of 32 stage against Paraguay. Klopp will officially begin his role on August 15, following his release from Red Bull, where he held the position of Head of Global Role.

The German Football Association (DFB) facilitated Klopp's release by agreeing to pay one million Euros to the “Wings for Life” foundation and committing to play three matches in Leipzig by the end of 2030. This marks Klopp's first national team coaching role in his career.

DFB President Bernd Neuendorf stated that Klopp's release signifies Red Bull's investment in strengthening the German national team. Red Bull's CEO Oliver Mintzlaff expressed support for Klopp's departure, emphasizing the importance of a strong German team.

Klopp's first match as Germany's coach will be against the Netherlands in the Nations League in September.
