Atiku Abubakar Demands Justice for Yobe Airstrike Victims

Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, has called for justice for the victims of an airstrike that occurred at Jilli Market in Yobe State on Saturday. Reports indicate that the airstrike resulted in the deaths of several innocent traders, which Atiku described as a tragic failure and an outrage against the conscience of the state.

He emphasized the need to reduce collateral damage during military operations aimed at insurgents, questioning how long citizens would remain unsafe from terrorist activities. Atiku highlighted the recent deployment of 150 aircraft by the United States, costing an estimated $300 million, to protect lives, contrasting it with the situation in Nigeria where innocent lives are at risk.

He expressed condolences to the families affected by the airstrike and urged the government to uphold its duty to protect its citizens, stressing that national security is of utmost importance.
