EFCC Urged to Prosecute Aregbesola Over Alleged N600 Billion Fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is under pressure to prosecute ex-Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola for allegedly diverting N600 billion in local government funds from 2010 to 2018. The Center for Human Rights and Social Justice (CHRJ) accuses Aregbesola of mismanaging funds meant for local councils, describing them as phantom projects.

CHRJ, along with other civil society organizations, has filed petitions and provided extensive evidence of financial misappropriation. The group alleges that Aregbesola, along with Dr.

Wale Bolorunduro and Mr. Kolapo Alimi, illegally diverted funds and controlled local government resources.

Despite previous complaints, the EFCC is urged to take action against the accused individuals.
