Former Police Service Commission Chairman Perry Osayande Dies at 88 - Legacy Remembered

Perry Osayande, the former chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), has passed away at the age of 88 in Benin City, Edo State. Osayande, who would have turned 89 on Monday, died in the early hours of Sunday as confirmed by retired Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni.

Known for his distinguished career, Osayande served as the PSC chairman from 2008 to 2013, overseeing significant developments within the commission. His legacy includes leading the arrest of notorious criminal Lawrence Anini in 1986 and playing a pivotal role in quelling religious riots in Bauchi and Kano states.

Osayande's contributions to law enforcement and peacekeeping missions have been widely recognized through national honors.
