On Wednesday, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State received former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, who is a presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party. The meeting took place at the Oyo State Government Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan, and was conducted behind closed doors.

Kwankwaso arrived at the governor's office accompanied by a small delegation of political allies. Sources from the secretariat confirmed that the meeting was private, and no official statement was issued regarding its purpose.
