Aliko Dangote Appointed Pioneer Chairperson of ECOWAS Business Council

Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote has been appointed as the pioneer Chairperson of the newly established ECOWAS Business Council, announced during the 95th ordinary session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers in Abuja. The council aims to enhance private sector-led economic growth, reduce dependence on foreign investment, and promote intra-regional capital flow in West Africa.

Dangote's extensive experience across Africa is seen as a key factor in his selection. The council will focus on addressing economic challenges, promoting regional trade, and fostering economic self-sufficiency in the region.
