ECOWAS Appoints Aliko Dangote as Chairman to Boost Regional Trade

The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) has appointed Nigerian industrialist Aliko Dangote as the pioneer chairman of the ECOWAS Business Council (EBC) during its 95th ordinary session in Abuja. The EBC aims to strengthen private sector engagement and boost regional trade to drive economic integration in West Africa.

ECOWAS Commission President Omar Touray expressed confidence in Dangote's leadership to achieve the council's goals. The move is part of efforts to promote intra-regional investment and mobilize capital within the subregion for development.
