Nigeria's Merchandise Trade Surges to ₦38.9 Trillion in Q3 2025

Nigeria's total merchandise trade rose to ₦38.9 trillion in Q3 2025, marking an 8.71% increase from the previous year. The trade surplus of ₦6.69 trillion was recorded, attributed to higher global commodity prices and improved oil product levels.

The Nation Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported a steady recovery in external trade flows, with a significant rise in exports to ₦22.8 trillion and imports at ₦16.12 trillion. This growth was fueled by a surge in crude oil exports and enhanced non-oil sector performance.
