NLC Meets ASUU and SSANU Over Ongoing Strike Crisis

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) convened a closed-door meeting with various education unions including ASUU and SSANU to address the ongoing strike disrupting academic activities nationwide. ASUU initiated the strike due to unresolved issues such as staff welfare, unpaid salaries, and poor infrastructure.

Despite the government's claims of progress in negotiations, ASUU demands full implementation of the 2009 agreement. The meeting aims to strategize on protecting academic workers' welfare and stabilizing the tertiary education system in Nigeria.
