Nnamdi Kanu Issues Orders to IPOB, Warns Against Attacks from Detention

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of IPOB currently held in Sokoto Correctional Center, has issued strict orders to the group, emphasizing respect for the leadership structure and cautioning against unauthorized actions. Kanu's legal representative, Nnaemeka Ejiofor, stressed Kanu's directives to respect the hierarchy within IPOB.

Kanu listed specific affiliated bodies and warned against attacks on individuals associated with these groups. He also imposed a ban on public broadcasts regarding internal matters and instructed that messages be funneled through his legal team.

Kanu challenged allegations of extortion within the movement and urged the public to disregard such claims. Despite seeking a transfer back to Abuja, Kanu's motion was rejected by Justice James Omotosho in December 2025, maintaining his current detention status.
